Salary: £30,559-£33,366 per annumGrade: HContract: PermanentHours: Full-timeLocation: Scarborough, North YorkshireDo you have the energy, drive and compassion to support young people at risk of homelessness?We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Homelessness Prevention Officer to join our Young People's Pathway Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work directly with young people aged 16-25 across North Yorkshire, helping them to avoid homelessness and build brighter futures.About the RoleAs a Homelessness Prevention Officer, you will:• Work with young people and their families or carers to prevent homelessness through early intervention, including mediation.• Carry out timely assessments and develop tailored support plans.• Collaborate with Housing Options Officers and Children's Services to ensure statutory duties are met.• Support the delivery of the Young People's Accommodation Pathway through joint working with internal and external partners.• Be based primarily in the Scarborough, Whitby and Filey area, with flexibility to support the wider North Yorkshire team as needed.Key Responsibilities• Manage a caseload of young people at risk of homelessness.• Complete and record screening assessments for all 16 and 17-year-olds.• Assess and monitor risk levels, referring to specialist services where appropriate.• Coordinate and monitor the implementation of support needs.• Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development.What We're Looking ForWe are looking for someone who:• Has a genuine passion for supporting young people.• Possesses excellent communication and problem-solving skills.• Can work effectively with a range of professionals and agencies.• Is organised, resilient, and committed to making a difference.Training will be provided to support the hybrid nature of this role, which bridges housing and children's social care.***DBS***Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post.For further information about this role, please contact Becci Whitmore Dates:Closing date - 3rd August 2025Interview - 13th August 2025Key Documents:Job Description.docxTotal RewardsNYC are committed to directly recruiting staff and will not accept applications nor services from agency suppliers in respect of our vacancies.We are committed to meeting the needs of our diverse community and aim to have a workforce reflecting this diversity.
