Oxford Health Community Hospitals are delighted to offer a secondment or fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave for our Band 6 physiotherapist within our award-winning team. If you are passionate about working in an adult inpatient physical rehabilitation setting, where our goal is to enhance patients' quality of life, health, and facilitate their safe discharge from hospital, then we are the team for you. We welcome experienced Physiotherapists who have the compassion, skills, and knowledge to assess patients and deliver person-centred interventions that impact daily activities, improve health and well-being, and promote independence. We are a supportive, well-established, and knowledgeable community hospital multidisciplinary team. You will receive quality supervision, including individual, safeguarding, and reflective practice supervision. This progressive service is keen to develop and improve. The role is based at Didcot Community Hospital, with potential cross-site work at Wallingford Hospital. The role involves providing specialist rehabilitation to patients with various health conditions, including frailty, MSK, neuro, amputees, and orthopaedics. Adjustments can be considered under the Equality Act 2010 where required. The Band 6 physiotherapist will provide inpatient rehabilitation for a 15-bed unit, mainly for frail elderly patients, with some neuro rehabilitation and mental health issues. Responsibilities include: Assessment and treatment of complex admissions to the inpatient rehab ward. Moving and handling assessments. Hands-on facilitation to mobilize and engage patients in exercises. Documentation of care plans, referrals, discharge meeting minutes, and electronic notes. Communicating with family members, service providers, and team members. Supporting unqualified staff, delegating tasks, supervising students, and overseeing team in managers' absence.
