An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and talented Medical Laboratory Assistant to join the Histopathology Research Team, within the Paediatric Laboratory Medicine Service at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH).GOSH is a national centre of excellence in the provision of specialist children's health care; and it provides the widest range of paediatric services of any hospital in the UK. Our purpose is to advance care for children and young people with complex health needs so they can fulfil their potential (Histopathology department comprises a consultant-led team providing a comprehensive tissue-based Paediatric diagnostic service.The post holder will aid the Histopathology Research team to provide an efficient, effective and high-quality service.To provide administrative support including generating request and work sheets To monitor generic e-mail accounts and answer telephone queries, and forward queries to the relevant subject matter experts Undertake general laboratory filing and administration when required Specimen reception: checking patient information and sample type, sorting and numbering of specimens. To follow procedures for the receipt of correctly labelled specimens and inform lab staff of any errors.
