Patient expected Length of stay is 8-48 hours, therefore the admission/transfer/discharge activity, (ADT), of this unit is expected to be high and therefore fast paced. This clinical area features a pace similar to the Emergency Room with diagnostic work ups and care needs in a telemetry setting.Duties/Responsibilities:Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, educate and document the nursing care of patients set forth by organizational policies and in accordance with the standards of professional nursing practice. Utilizes specialized knowledge, judgement, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, as well as, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the patient to facilitate a safe discharge. Works collaboratively with other disciplines in care of patients. Participates in formal and informal educational programs to improve technical skills. Responsible for continued learning and application to practice. Responsible to provide patient and family education.It is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required.Registration/Certification:Current MA RN License AHA BLS certification required.Education/Experience Required:12 months of recent Acute Care RN experience preferred. Current telemetry experience preferred. Evidence of continuing education. Utilizes appropriate time management skills and communicates effectively.
