The training shift pattern will be 10:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday.Perform PCR testing for Food and environmental samples, ensuring all results are reported on time and accurately. Assist in the planning and validation of additional methods/species to enhance the PCR proposition as required. To carry out registration of samples in line with the quality standard and written methods/procedures. To carry out processing and extraction of samples in line with the quality standard and written methods/procedures. To carry out reagent preparation in line with the quality standard and written methods/procedures. To carry out PCR results analysis in line with the quality standard and written methods/procedures. To carry out reagent QC, IQC, environmental monitoring in line with the quality standard and written methods/procedures. Work with the technical leader to put the right processes in place to ensure that the laboratory is able to grow aligned to the predicted market growth. Managing relationships with all partner labs (internal and external) and working with them to drive both performance and identify new areas of testing to share with our existing customer base to drive value for ourselves and our customers Adhering to documented procedures for the relevant section of the laboratory, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained. Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner. Ensure personal protective clothing equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy. Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement. Knowledge of Laboratory Quality Manual in order to ensure compliance at all times with the policies, procedures and associated documents which are referred to in the manual. To assist through operating best practice in order to meet the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard. Provide a high level of internal and external customer care Any other reasonable tasks as delegated by the Team Leader.QualificationsDegree or equivalent in science. Understanding of ISO 17025, UKAS, key customer requirements, audit procedures, methods etc. Experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory. Good organisational and technical problem-solving skills. Capable of working well under pressure. Reliable and thorough. Willing to take on responsibility.
