This role is ideal for a construction professional with hands-on experience in sustainable construction practices who is ready to bring that expertise into the technology space. Leveraging your industry expertise, you will lead the incubation, development and productization of innovative sustainability solutions. To influence and drive strategic development of our technology, you'll work closely with industry strategy, product, marketing and research & development teams across the company to shape digital solutions that reduce environmental impact and promote responsible construction as part of an integrated AECO portfolio. Responsibilities Influence AECO sustainability strategy by understanding and translating major challenges, trends, drivers, and demands influencing sustainable construction processes and workflowsServe as a subject matter expert on sustainable construction, shaping strategy and contributing to product development teams on platform solutions that support waste reduction, materials tracking, and environmental reporting for sustainability certification programsTranslate design, pre-construction, and construction field experience of real-world, applied workflows, jobsite practices, and implementation of sustainability requirements into innovative platform and product developmentSupport the development of Autodesk technology to enable sustainability outcomes by AECO customers, focused on the construction phase: Define and scope technology proof of concept projects in collaboration with Autodesk’s technology teams, customers, and partnersCoordinate and influence Research, Product, and XD teams, to integrate new technology or further the development of existing technologyBuild trust by collaborating with industry and customers like construction firms, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather feedback and validate product concepts and prototypesProvide subject matter expertise and technical knowledge to support enablement and go to market effortsApply your working knowledge of mapping data and workflows across design–construction–operations to support life cycle thinking, product and material traceability, circularity, sustainability metrics and AECO compliance/reporting in solutions developmentRepresent Autodesk as a thought leader in the field of sustainable constructionMinimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a relevant field3–5 years of professional experience in one or more AEC disciplines, ideally working on construction sites or in project delivery (vertical or infrastructure projects)Strong understanding of the intersection between design and pre-construction, as well as the construction project lifecycle, including coordination with GCs, subcontractors, suppliers, owners and consultantsSkilled user of Autodesk BIM technology and construction-related digital platforms, digital twins, and construction management systems (e.g. Revit, Civil3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Tandem)Relevant expertise in sustainability (e.g. high-performance buildings, smart & resilient cities, green construction and infrastructure) and demonstrated application of sustainable construction practices, including material management, reduction of site waste, embodied carbon tools and data collection for green building or site certificationsAbility to communicate construction workflows for sustainability to technical teams, including product managers and software engineersComfortable working in a cross-functional, technology-driven environmentExcellent collaboration, communication and documentation skills, with experience translating complex technical concepts for non-technical teams and audiencesFlexibility in meeting people in different time zonesPreferred Qualifications Experience collaborating with or contributing to software or digital product development (e.g., as a domain expert, customer success lead, or implementation advisor)Understanding of API-based software ecosystems and how different digital tools interoperate in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) technology stackPrograms such as LEED, SITES, Envision, BREEAM, DGNB, or WELLExposure to software design thinking, user research, or product feedback loops in SaaS developmentExperience mapping data flows across design–construction–operations to support sustainability metrics or material traceabilityThe Ideal Candidate Bringing real-world industry knowledge to the team, the ideal candidate will apply their professional experience and understanding of how architects, engineers, contractors, and owners design and deliver sustainable high-performing, future-proof buildings and infrastructure. Salary transparency Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $89,500 and $154,330. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
