Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen for aTransport Supervisorto join our team in Skelmersdale on a full-time, permanent basis! Salary:£32,130 per annum. Working Hours:4 on 4 off, 6pm-6am. As a Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for the 24/7 transport operations, managing the Transport Supervisors, and supporting the Transport Manager in ensuring costs are controlled in line with budget/forecast expectations. Job responsibilities include: Communicating with the Transport Manager and Transport Planning Teams to maximise backloads, identify cost-saving opportunities, trailer utilisation, and cost efficiency. Ensuring effective planning and utilisation of drivers and sub-contract haulage for deliveries from multiple warehousing sites. Acting as a point of escalation to deal with queries via telephone, fax, and email from customers, subcontract hauliers, and warehousing sites. Building and maintaining good working relationships with team members, vendors, hauliers, and partners. Liaising with the GBD traffic and administration teams to ensure high standards of performance. Reporting problems and resolving issues or queries that may arise. Communicating daily with operational teams, vendors, and customers regarding network/route plan changes. Continuing improvement for cost reductions, including tactical route changes. Qualifications: Previous transport and office experience demonstrating high transport knowledge and expertise in a busy environment. Experience in transport policy and strategy development, master planning, and good knowledge of transportation and planning systems. CPC National qualification is desirable but not essential. Attention to detail and accuracy. Planning and organisational skills, high numeracy levels. Excellent communication skills for delivering accurate information.
