Job Description DEKA Research & Development, located in Manchester, NH, is seeking a motivated Senior Biomedical Engineer with experience in wet lab testing, fluid handling technologies, and water purification systems. The ideal candidate will be eager to join an innovative team and apply engineering test principles to support the design and evaluation of complex systems, with a particular focus on water quality testing of fluid management systems against formal quality standards. Responsibilities as a Senior Biomedical Engineer include: Writing test plans, test procedures, and documentation related to performance, durability, and reliability assessments Understanding device design and core technologies to inform test method development Determining test coverage for design revisions Creating and evaluating test fixtures for product design verification Contributing to design failure investigations impacting Risk Assessment, Hazard Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) Participating in and contributing to regulatory and agency submissions Authoring Quality Plans, Test Summaries, and related documents Qualifications for success: BS or MS in Biomedical Engineering 3+ years of experience testing electro-mechanical devices Laboratory/wet lab experience and skills are required Leadership and/or mentoring experience Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals Ability to define and communicate team objectives clearly; capable of writing procedures for others to follow Demonstrated problem-solving abilities Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within interdisciplinary teams Self-motivated with effective task prioritization Excellent verbal and written communication skills Skills and experience related to water purification: Understanding of water purification technologies, principles, and operation Knowledge of water quality regulations and testing methodologies Proficiency in laboratory procedures, including sampling, chemical analysis (pH, conductivity, hardness, TOC), and microbiological testing Ability to operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and water quality monitoring equipment Strong analytical skills for interpreting test results, troubleshooting, and proposing corrective actions Ability to perform and document testing activities for compliance and traceability About DEKA: Located just one hour from the beach, Boston, and the mountains, the historic Amoskeag Millyard—once home to the world’s largest textile mills—is now the headquarters of DEKA Research & Development.
