HOURS:Full-time – 35 hours per week WORKING PATTERN:Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites listed above.ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY We are transforming the way we deliver and run our technology here at Lloyds Banking Group! We’re developing creative solutions, adopting cutting-edge technologies and moving fast to better serve our customers. We want to do all of this safely, to make sure our systems are there when our customers need them. So our new technology has to be highly resilient, available and responsive. It has to be able to recover quickly when things go wrong. We have to understand any weak points, and make sure we can fix them. To do all this we need to manage risk better. We want to make sure technology risk is described in the right way, owned by the right people and gets fed into the right decision-making forums. We don’t want risk to be a set of processes, we want to bring to life the pros and cons of tech decision-making, and allow senior leaders to really understand the impact of tech risk to their customers. We want to use operational data to tell us how we’re managing risk in real-time, and whether our exposure is going up or down. And we want to make sure the exciting new tech we are adopting has technical guardrails in place to make it easy for engineers to do the right thing, and hard to do the wrong thing. HOW CAN YOU HELP US MAKE THIS HAPPEN? We’re looking for capable, articulate, and motivated individuals with: Deep operational expertise aligned to IT systems risk across a financial services group. Detailed knowledge of key technology risks facing financial services, with proven ability to assess and manage risk, set policy, design controls, provide assurance, and balance risk and reward. Practical expertise in one or more of the following: Designing, developing, and securing mobile applications across platforms, with a strong grasp of mobile-specific failure modes and app store compliance. Understanding the design and resilience of distributed network infrastructures, including traffic routing, fault tolerance, redundancy, and failover strategies. Applied knowledge across technology asset lifecycle management, configuration and build management, service management (capacity, change, problem, incident), architecture and design (including cloud services), engineering and application development (including DevOps), resilience, networking, shared responsibility models, storage, databases, operating systems, virtualisation, containerisation, and mobile. Curiosity and understanding of emerging technologies shaping the risk landscape (AI, Digital Ledger Technology, Quantum). Deep subject matter expertise in operational risk frameworks and technologies used across financial and non-financial services. Strong understanding of laws, regulations, industry standards, and technical practices. Experience developing and owning group-level policy, setting risk appetite, and monitoring group exposure. Ability to set control objectives and performance indicators. Timely decision-making that balances trade-offs and aligns with business strategy. Experience assimilating complex data to solve problems and make relevant recommendations. Ability to interpret new regulation, emerging risks, and tech innovations with foresight. Experience as a Risk Specialist business partner, collaborating with Risk Owners, Control Owners, and Control Offices. Understanding of the roles across all lines of defence and ability to act as the primary Operational Risk expert. Experience building effective, data-led Operational Risk control objectives, including with external regulators. Future-focused mindset with a clear line of sight to Group Strategy. Ability to inspire and coach others, fostering inclusive collaboration and building teams aligned to our Group Strategy and Purpose. WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? You'll have both opportunity and profile. We'll provide you with a diverse, energising and lively environment that focuses on equal opportunity and real career progression in a leading digital organisation. We'll take your personal and professional development very seriously, and give you access to industry-leading tech education as well as all the feedback and support you need to help you achieve your career goals. We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes: A generous pension contribution of up to 15% An annual performance-related bonus Share schemes including free shares. Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping. 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture. We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative. It’s why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups. We’re disability confident. So, if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know. So, if you have a desire to work in a challenging role in a dynamic environment, whilst gaining skills and experience within a friendly and motivated team then get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.#J-18808-Ljbffr
