Job Title Manager, Individual Retirement Income, S&RJob Description The Role Working with the AVP Individual Retirement Income, this role will be expected to support our strategic new entry into the Individual Retirement Income market. This role will ideally be based in London to focus on the strategic entry to the UK retirement income market. The role will focus on supporting the proposition development, sales, client relationships, structuring, execution and ongoing management of transactions in the UK individual retirement income market and other related projects that arise over time. Other projects will involve supporting the development of wider global funded flow propositions. Key Responsibilities Assist and lead on parts of the development of strategy for the UK individual retirement income market entry and wider funded flow reinsurance proposition. Combine understanding of client needs & opportunities to develop, build, communicate and launch a market leading retirement income reinsurance approach utilising technology and underwriting appropriately. Support the development of innovative new retirement income propositions (funded and longevity) for the core global markets, including reinsurance pricing tools and potentially education and guidance tools, leveraging where possible global S&R and/or Pacific Life capabilities, skills, data and technology Develop, manage and secure new business opportunities, including working closely with the Global S&R Insurance and Deal Pricing Teams to deliver timely, high-quality responses to client invitations to tender, meeting internal risk management standards Support deal structuring efforts and transaction negotiations, working alongside investment, pricing teams and our internal and external legal counsel. Support the operationalisation of new business flow opportunities and the ongoing management of flow deals once in place. Build and own relationships with our clients – insurers, pension schemes, asset managers, consultants, advisers and other key parties within the UK individual retirement market, including writing thought leadership pieces, as part of building an entry and growth strategy within this market Qualifications & Expertise EssentialFIA, FFA or equivalent Prior work experience in (re)insurance pricing or other technical teams Very strong understanding of actuarial principles and processes Very strong technical, analytical and communication skills with a proven ability to understand and question pricing and / or capital bases. Good organisational and time management skills In depth understanding of risk frameworks and controls. High focus on Innovation and solution mindset Enthusiastic, with a keen drive and focus Desirableexperience in and understanding of underwritten insurance pricing and rates – either in annuities or protection market experience of proposition innovation and product development cycle knowledge of the local regulatory environment impactful presenter and influencer.
