Property Lawyer PO3-PO5: Starting salary £46,437 rising in annual increments to £55,710 pa plus up to £10,000 pa market supplement (dependent upon experience). About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen in the Council’s legal department for a Property Lawyer to join our team. We seek a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives (or equivalent), ideally with public sector experience. This role involves managing a varied caseload, requiring high organisation, proactivity, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure both independently and as part of a team. You will provide legal advice on commercial and residential property law, conduct litigation, and support the Senior Lawyer to ensure cost-effective, high-quality advice and representation. Responsibilities include residential and commercial conveyancing, development agreements, landlord and tenant matters, and compulsory purchase. You should be experienced in drafting legal documents, providing legal advice, conducting legal research, and managing litigation-related administration. Competency in dealing directly with clients, external stakeholders, solicitors, barristers, and court personnel is essential.
