Purpose The Public Credit (PC) team sits within Just Group’s investment function. Its mandate is to (1) deploy capital into the PC markets received from new Bulk Annuity and Individual Annuity policies and (2) evaluate the PC portfolio’s risk profile (credit, liquidity, and responsible investing) and seek sustainable capital generation via back book optimisation. The PC Quant Senior Analyst is a new role within the PC team and aligns to the newly formed PC Quantitative pillar that supports the PC Trading & PM Pillar to meet the team’s mandate. The role will be working closely with PC Quant manager to drive the technological enhancements to PC capabilities to enable more systematic (1) evaluation of investment opportunities / risks and This will require strong collaboration with the PC Portfolio Managers and Traders to ensure enhancements meet commercial needs of the front office. Moreover a critical part of the role is idea generation; bringing new analytical techniques to enhance the team’s origination and optimisation capabilities. Additionally, the individual will work closely with wider teams [ALM, Investment Actuarial and Capital Management] in Just to ensure PC models are optimal within the wider Just technological eco system Skills & Knowledge Excellent analytical capabilities with the ability to sense check numbers, perform quick “back of the envelope” calculations and build intuition over results Strong team player and presenter Good programming capabilities; preferably in Python and VBA [2+ years of demonstrable experience] Good understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning Good knowledge of fixed income products and associated financial market dynamics Working understanding of Defined Benefit pension schemes and/or Solvency II for Life Insurers Previous experience in creating/validating pricing, risk and analytical models in an enterprise analytical platform Front-Office experience working in a fast-paced environment Good understanding of API/SQL/databases Experience Several years experience in quantitative modelling and analysis, preferably with a focus in fixed income and more specifically Investment Grade credit Several years of demonstrable experience in Programming capabilities Experience in investment Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset Detailed orientated and diligent in work deliveries Strong focus on self-development Strong work ethic with a mentality to go above and beyond the status quo Qualifications Essential for the role University Degree or ideally Masters’ Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative field CQF or similar CFA or similar Company Benefits A competitive Salary, Pension Scheme and Life Assurance Along with 25 Days Annual Leave plus an Additional Day on us for your Birthday Private Medical Cover and Income Protection, just in case A generous and highly achievable bonus scheme – paid annually based on individual and company performance against targets Opportunity to progress within your career both in-role and within the company FREE access to the Headspace App, a 24/7 Employee Assistance Helpline and Trained Physical & Mental Health First Aiders (On-Site) A variety of Employee Funded Benefits available to you via our Online Benefits Portal Plus, several additional purchase options available for you and your loved ones Why Just?
