Job OverviewConsultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics - Orthogeriatric MedicineWe are looking to recruit a Consultant Orthogeriatrician with the view of a substantive post.The post is full-time with 10PAs at Wexham Park Hospital.For Further Details, Please Contact:Mr Rakesh Kucheria, Chief of Service - rakesh.kucheria@Main duties of the jobThis is a new opportunity offered by Frimley Health NHS Trust for a Consultant Physician in Orthogeriatric Medicine. The post has been funded jointly by Medical and Orthopaedic Directorates.The post holderwill not be on the general medical on call or look after general medical patients but willwork closely with the orthopaedic trauma consultants to provide joint peri-and post-operative care for elderly trauma patients admitted to dedicated trauma and orthopaedic wards. Each trauma ward currently has dedicated F1 and F2 junior doctors who will support the medical management of patients. Junior orthopaedic surgeons, trauma nurse practitioners and trauma coordinators, who coordinate the trauma operating lists in liaison with the anaesthetists and trauma surgeons, provide additional support. Provider or instructor status as within the Royal College Advanced Trauma Life Support System.
