We provide support in relation to a number of different topics such as what is going on in and around Barton, what activities are taking place at the centre and what events are planned for the coming year.We also provide specialist support for people seeking help with finding work, those looking for training or educational courses and people who are thinking of setting up their own small business.As part of this we provide access to the Barton Community Larder which opens once a week on a Tuesday and helps reduce food waste by providing donations to our local community.Are you passionate about food equity, reducing waste and supporting your local community?We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to lead the day to day running of our Community Larder and support the needs of Barton Community AssociationPosition:The successful candidate will be responsible for the distribution of surplus food donations and the co-ordination of the community larder on a Tuesday 9am to 6pm.Your responsibilities will be to oversee the general running of the larder:Setting up and packing away all larder with the help of Volunteers Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety and safeguarding policies Recruitment and onboarding of new Volunteers Organise the Volunteer rotas to cover for any absence Ensuring that the larder volunteers follow all necessary procedures The smooth management of the Larder café which is run by volunteers during larder hoursRequirements:The ideal candidate will live locally to Barton, Oxfordshire:Have a background in community work, volunteer co-ordination Have excellent organisational and communication skills Work well within a team environment and in partnership with other members of the team Have a flexible approach to the needs of Barton Community Association with the ability to react positively to unexpected change Manage our volunteers and other relationships with tact and diplomacy Be resilient and calmExperience in food handling or non-profit settings is valued, but above all, we are looking for someone who believes in the power of community support and food justice.Other information:We offer a welcoming and mission driven workplace with the chance to make a meaningful impact in the community.If you are looking for a job for one day a week to fit into your current week, we would be delighted to receive your application.The hourly rate for this role is £13.16.
