The post holder will be part of the Divisional Nursing Leadership team with specific responsibility forthe Surgical Wards. Main duties of the job Matron’s role will focus on: Inclusive leadership, professionalstandardsand accountability. Governance, patient safety and quality. Workforce planning and resource management. Performance and operational oversight. Financial control of the surgical nursing budgets Digital and information technology. Education,trainingand development. Research and development. Collaborative working and clinical effectiveness. Service improvement and transformation. Person specification Skills Advanced communications skills including inter-personal skills, liaison and negotiation skills, writing and presentation skills Ability to manage the service and contribute to overall strategy for the service Expert clinical skills within the relevant field.
