Job Description

Permanent Commercial Manager required for Belfast. Job Summary: My client are seeking a results-driven Commercial Manager to lead and optimise the commercial performance of their food distribution business. This role involves managing key customer relationships, developing pricing and sales strategies, overseeing contract negotiations, and ensuring efficient, profitable operations across the supply and distribution chain. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive sales growth and expand market share within the frozen food sector. Manage key customer accounts (retail, foodservice, wholesale, etc.) and ensure high levels of service and satisfaction. Oversee contract negotiations and management with suppliers, logistics partners, and clients. Monitor and optimise pricing, margins, and promotional activities based on market trends and competitor actions. Lead sales forecasting and demand planning in collaboration with supply chain and operations teams. Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely, cost-effective distribution while maintaining cold chain compliance. Develop and track KPIs, budgets, and financial performance reports, ensuring performance targets are met or exceeded. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including B2B partnerships and geographic expansion. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, cold storage standards, and contractual obligations. Essential Criteria: Degree in business, Supply Chain, Food Distribution, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of commercial management experience, ideally within the frozen food or broader food distribution industry. Strong understanding of cold chain logistics, food safety regulations, and B2B sales. Proven track record in sales growth, margin improvement, and customer relationship management. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or financial software tools. Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills. Experience working with major retailers, supermarkets, or foodservice providers. Established network within the food distribution and logistics industry.
