Do you have a scientific degree?A successful and expanding contract testing laboratory are seeking 2 Microbiology Technicians to join the team at their site in Hemel Hempstead. The company offer testing and analytical services to the food industry. There is one permanent and one 12 month FTC available. Hours are 37.5 per week , Thursday-Monday (usual Shift times 10-6 or 9-5)This would be an ideal role if you are a graduate of a relevant scientific discipline and you have some previous working experience (working experience does not have to be scientific/ lab based, any working experience will be considered)Role Overview Prepare samples and reagents for laboratory testingPerform extractions and minor Analysis of samples as requiredProvide support in the Instrument room as required and under the supervision of Senior Staff.Ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy and well stocked of Lab consumablesTo ensure all work is conducted in line with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and UKAS 17025.Requirements Education in a Scientific Discipline such as a Degree in a relevant discipline would be highly beneficial.Some prior full time working experience (from any industry) is essential.Excellent Communication Skills and Attention to Detail.Proactive and analytical approach to work.Available to begin immediately and able to commute to site in Hemel HempsteadIn returnThis will be an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working within a Laboratory setting amongst supportive and highly talented colleaguesFor more information or to apply, please contact Louis Williams.Due to the volume of applications received on a daily basis, we find it incredibly difficult to respond to each and every one.
