What will this role achieve? We are looking for a commercially minded and proactive Group Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team. The role will support the Group’s commercial operations across multiple jurisdictions but will have day to day responsibility for the UK&I region. This role is ideal for a law firm trained solicitor who thrives in a fast-paced business environment and who enjoys working in teams with stakeholders across the business and at all levels. You will play a key role in supporting the Group’s legal needs, managing risk and enabling strategic growth.What will be your key deliverables? Commercial & Contractual SupportDraft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including supply of goods and services agreements, NDAs, capital expenditure agreements, co-manufacturing agreements, logistics agreements, IT licences and promotional partnerships.Support procurement in managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with ethical sourcing and sustainability standards.Advise sales teams on trade terms, pricing structures and customer agreements and provide competition law guidance and training.Approve marketing and advertising materials including packaging designs, social media, on-pack promotions, and marketing plans in close collaboration with our IP team.Corporate & Regulatory ComplianceExecute company secretarial duties and board support including maintaining statutory registers, Companies House filings, preparation of board resolutions, management of overseas agents, maintenance of Group structure and responses to external KYC requests.Monitor and advise on regulatory developments affecting the FMCG Sector (for example advertising standards, food safety, labelling and packaging) and collaborate closely on the same with our Regulatory team and Data Privacy Officer.Risk Management & TrainingIdentify legal risks early and develop mitigation strategies aligned with business goals.Deliver training to commercial teams on legal topics such as competition law, GSCOP, advertising compliance and contract basics.Support the business in contract lifecycle management and process improvement.Liaise with external counsel where necessary and manage legal spend effectively.Contribute to Global Legal projects including the development of internal policies, templates and legal frameworks.
