Today, the firm provides integrated talent and human capital solutions to help our clients change the world, one leadership team at a time.®Additional information on the firm can be found at .The Role:The Regional Payroll Specialist, reporting to the Senior Regional Payroll Specialist, manages all activities necessary to process European payroll for approximately 650 employees. This position works closely with members of the Human Resources department along with other key Finance personnel including the other regional payroll specialists globally.Responsibilities:Managing the timely and accurate processing and disbursement of European payrolls in the following countries: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.Reviewing payroll for accuracy according to established controls prior to final confirmation of the process.Preparing accounting transactions and documents, (must have G/L knowledge), documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for senior management.Coordinating the investigation and response to any tax or payment inquiries.Ensuring the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely.Working with various in country payroll providers to deliver quality results and engage in continuous process improvement.Researching the accounting treatment of complex transactions.Performing periodic internal audits of various payroll areas and preparing materials for external or internal auditors.Researching laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures.Supporting global expansion and providing insight for third party vendor(s) to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance in multiple countries.Communicating actively with Human Resources and Finance to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.Managing regular preparation of relevant management reports, including monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.Supporting management with audits, analysis, reports and special projectsRole Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.Certification with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals desiredMinimum of five years’ experience in processing European payroll, preferably in a professional services environmentDayforce and or Celergo/ADP CGC experience is desirable.Proven experience in providing highest levels of client service internally and externally.Strong partnership and collaborative style with outstanding communication skills listening, written and verbalStrong comfort level with shifting priorities.Continuously seeking opportunities to improve the automation and standardization of the payroll and related processesDedication to teamwork within payroll function and across other teamsHigh attention to detail and the ability to guard highly confidential and sensitive informationConfidence to have a strong point of view and express it even if it proves unpopular.An ability to build long-term, trusting relationships with employees, clients and with other Finance colleagues.Additional languages are a plus – Italian or French preferred but not required.
