Job Description

Role OverviewYou will manage and improve HR data quality, support audits, lead HR projects, drive automation, and ensure compliance, especially around the SMCR (Senior Managers and Certification Regime). This role combines hands-on data management with strategic project delivery and process improvement.Main Responsibilities1. HR Data ManagementEnsure employee data is accurate, integrated, and compliantRun regular data audits and fix inconsistenciesMaintain data entry standardsAnalyze internal and external survey and benchmarking data2. Compliance & AuditRespond to audit findings and implement control frameworksPrepare reports for audits and ensure compliance with UK law3. SMCR (Senior Managers & Certification Regime)Lead the annual SMCR re-certification processCoordinate with teams to gather and verify dataPrepare and submit regulatory documents4. Reporting & AnalysisBuild reports and dashboards to support HR and business decisionsPartner with Finance on headcount and budget planningSupport quarterly reviews and capacity planning5. Payroll ControlsReview monthly payroll filesManage IR35 compliance for external consultants6. Project ManagementLead and deliver HR projects from start to finishCoordinate with cross-functional teamsTrack timelines and keep stakeholders informed7. Process Improvement & AutomationIdentify and implement process improvements using tools like Excel macros and Power AutomateRecommend and deploy automation technologiesDocument and improve best practices8. Data GovernanceEnsure GDPR and internal policy complianceManage vendors (e.g., Edays, Moorepay)Train HR colleagues on data standardsComplianceFCA Conduct Rules Staff: Must act with integrity, diligence, fairness, and professionalismFollow compliance policies and relevant financial crime reporting rulesSkills & ExperienceRequired:5+ years in HR data, reporting, or projectsStrong Excel and numeracy skillsHRIS experienceDetail-oriented and analyticalStrong communicatorAble to balance strategic work and hands-on tasksAble to design and implement effective processesDesirable:Experience in financial services (especially investment banking)Familiarity with SMCRCIPD or similar HR certification
