Apricus Resourcing is currently seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and adaptableSubstance Misuse Healthcare Assistant (HCA)for a leading Social Healthcare Service based in the HR1 postcode area of Hereford. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing compassionate care. The successful applicant will be an experienced, compassionate individual capable of offering service users a first-class recovery experience in an industry-leading working environment. This full-time role involves working Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Any mileage or travel expenses incurred when traveling away from the workplace will be compensated. Working under the delegated authority of a Registered Nurse, the post holder will be a key part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, delivering high standards of individualised, non-judgemental care for patients. The role supports the operational requirements of social healthcare across complex mental health and substance misuse services, contributing to holistic care packages within our integrated services. Responsibilities include reception screening, providing agreed care packages, undertaking physical health observations, clinical duties, and participating in clinics such as Phlebotomy, ECG, NHS health checks, sexual health, and health promotion to address mental, physical, and social needs. The post holder will support patients with low-level mental health issues and withdrawal from illicit substances, following established care plans. Please note you must be competent in phlebotomy and performing ECGs. You should also be comfortable seeing clients autonomously in a 1:1 setting and able to recognize conditions requiring onward referral before starting. A NVQ Level 2 in Care or an equivalent qualification is required. In return, we offer a very competitive pay rate for weekdays of between GBP 15.91 and GBP 16.29 per hour, dependent on experience and determined through interview.
