We have an exciting role on offer within our Public Protection service as aPrincipal Public Protection Officer (Private Sector Housing) .About UsMiddlesbrough Council’s Public Protection Service is passionate about improving the lives and living standards of all its residents, protecting the environment, protecting consumer interests, and supporting a strong local economy.Working alongside other Principal Officers and Service Managers, you will take a lead role in our Private Sector Housing team. Your responsibilities will include licencing and managing houses in multiple occupation, investigating substandard housing conditions and other housing-related issues, conducting research and developing intelligence on the local private sector housing market, developing housing support and enforcement strategies, and supporting the delivery of licensing schemes.If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role, are resilient, adaptable to change, and possess good interpersonal skills, we welcome you to join our strong, friendly team.To be successful, you need a Degree in Environmental Health accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health or the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland, or an equivalent qualification in a related subject, along with at least 5 years’ experience working as an Environmental Health Officer or in an equivalent role delivering private or social sector housing functions.If this describes you, this may be the opportunity you are looking for!In return we can offerGenerous leave entitlement with an option to purchase up to 10 additional days of annual leave per year.
