Job Title:Class 1 Trunking Driver Division:PHS Hygiene Reports To:Service Manager Purpose of RoleAs a key worker in our Healthcare Division, you will contribute to the success of phs. Your responsibilities as an experienced Class 1 Service Driver include the collection and disposal of health-related waste products, such as Pharmaceutical, Non-Hazardous Waste, and Hazardous Clinical Waste (Sharps, Orange Bags, etc.). The role involves both internal and external interactions, with daily contact with depots, customers, and suppliers. Key ResponsibilitiesFollow planned routes, using PDA devices to confirm collections and manage site access issues. Operate in-cab technology; proficiency with satellite navigation devices and smartphones is required. Utilise double deck trailer and tractor unit combinations for on-site bin exchanges, collecting full bins and leaving empty ones. Complete hazardous consignment notes and transfer notes on your PDA. Use 40-foot trailer and tractor unit combinations to transfer waste to tipping sites across Northwest England. Return to your assigned depot daily. Skills and Knowledge RequiredStrong commitment to safety and legal compliance; a good safety record is essential. Full, clean LGV Class 1 Driving Licence and Digi Tacho holder. Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations. Driver CPC training is advantageous; training will be provided if needed. Essential RequirementsFull UK Class 1 Driving Licence held for at least 12 months (subject to insurance requirements), with no more than 6 points. Must pass an enhanced DBS check. Mandatory vaccinations against Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Polio due to the nature of waste handled and customer requirements.
