Title:Senior Quantity Surveyor (progress to Commercial Manager!) Location:Newport with 1 day per week travelling Salary:55,000 to 60,000 + car allowance Sector:High-end refurbishment projects £100k - £1 million Start Date:ASAP Quantity Surveyor - The Company:Our client is a highly sought-after and successful main contractor with an established reputation across high-end refurbishment projects as well as small construction projects. Typical projects include government office contracts and commercial sectors, characterized by fast-paced 6-8 week, high-quality bespoke jobs. Quantity Surveyor - The Role:This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage varied and interesting refurbishment contracts within a successful commercial team. There is a pathway to progress to Commercial Manager within 6-9 months. You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day commercial aspects of refurbishment projects from estimating through to completion, with good knowledge of contracts. Reporting to a Director, this role offers an enjoyable and energetic work environment with excellent progression opportunities nationally. Typical duties & responsibilities:Pricing jobs Ensuring optimum commercial return for the project Preparing and accurately reconciling cost/value reports Preparing and agreeing interim valuations to maximize commercial advantage Assisting in final account agreements with subcontractors to maximize margins Ensuring subcontract orders are prepared per company procedures and project schedules Maintaining control of subcontractor accounts and minimizing variations Managing subcontracts in terms of valuation and correspondence Carrying out duties as quantity surveyor on projects as instructed Preparing monthly cost/value reconciliation reports Preparing cash flow forecasts and updating them regularly Quantity Surveyor - The Person:At least 5 years experience with a national or regional construction main contractor Experience working on refurbishment projects Long-term career aspirations as a QS and beyond Innovative with the ability to identify improvements A good team player eager to contribute to a growing business Commutable to central Bristol daily (with 1 day WFH) Quantity Surveyor - The Reward:Competitive salary Company benefits package Varied and unique projects across sectors Opportunity to progress to Commercial Manager Please contact Foresight Search for more information on this or other vacancies (phone number removed)#J-18808-Ljbffr
