YZUP at WithYou is the commissioned Young Persons Drug and Alcohol Service for 11-18 year olds across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Main duties of the jobYou will be expected to: Undertake training of the Mind & Body Programme from September 2025. Liaise with schools to enable them to host a MAB programme, including setting up an SLA, and begin delivery in October/November 2025. Deliver 20-minute assemblies within secondary schools, introducing mental health and the MAB programme. Deliver individual and group interventions with young people, mainly in schools. Employ motivational interviewing and other therapeutic techniques to facilitate attitudinal and behavioral changes. Maintain accurate records of all activities. We have one vacancy for a Term-Time Only Mind and Body (MAB) Practitioner covering Cornwall, funded by Cornwall Integrated Care Board. The program supports young people aged 14-17 involved in or vulnerable to self-harm, helping them manage related thoughts and behaviors. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential extension, with salary pro-rata. Interview dates are scheduled for 28th and 29th August 2025. ExperienceExperience in youth work, mental health, or social work with knowledge of issues affecting young people. Understanding of health and safety, risk assessment, and safeguarding. Strong organizational, IT, and communication skills. Proven experience working with young people with complex needs. Ability to work independently and in partnership with other agencies. Experience in assessments, care planning, and delivering evidence-based interventions.
