Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time permanent, MHA administrator to join the Prestwich MHA team. The post-holder will be required to cover MHA offices within the Trust's footprint. The post-holder will need to bea self motivated individualwith administration experience and preferably knowledge ofthe MHA or a desire to learn. The successful candidate will be responsible forreceiving and scrutinising MHA documents and undertaking other MHA related tasks. The post is in a very busy team and the post-holder will need to able to prioritise and work to deadlines. Please note - This role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet criteria by temporary exemption from current changes to immigration rules put in force on 22/07/2025. Separate provisions are applied to workers who have been sponsored and held continuously Skilled Worker visa since prior to 04/04/2024. Main duties of the jobTo undertake the administrative aspects of the implementation of the Mental Health Act (MHA) and Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS), including, where necessary, supporting those responsible for the implementation of the Act. Also to ensure that the necessary support is in place to enable the MHA Hospital Managers to carry out their statutory duties ensuring best practice is developed and maintained throughout the organisation Receipt and scrutiny of statutory MHA documentation, ensuring that all documentation is completed lawfully and that any errors are rectified within designated timescalesEnsuring transfers of detained patients to and from the organistion are undertaken in accordance with the legislation and that relevant documentation accompanies the patientCoordinate administrative aspects of DoLS applicationsOrganise the administration of Mental Health Review Tribunal hearings and Mental Health Act Hospital Managers reviewsProvide the MHA Hospital Managers with all the necessary information and support to enable them to carry out their duties, including designing and delivering training programmes and monitoring deployment Coordinate liaison with MHA Commissioners (Care Quality Commission) including arrangements for visits and collation of responses to recommendations About usGreater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) Foundation Trust employs over 7000 members of staff, who deliver services from more than122 locations.
