Deadline for application: Tuesday 29th July 5pmAbout the role Jupiter Artland is recruiting Public Engagement Assistants to join the JUPITER+ Dundee team, presenting an outstanding installation by Lindsey Mendick on Dundee Reform Street this Autumn. The artwork, Growing pains, contains subversive ceramics with often outrageous and confronting imagery. She is the voice of the vulnerable, confronting issues she faced as a teenager. The Public Engagement Assistants will work onsite at the artwork, engaging members of the public and taking care of the artwork.About JUPITER+ Dundee Jupiter Artland is an award-winning contemporary sculpture garden located just outside Edinburgh. JUPITER + is a new off-site commissioning programme, which sees world- class artworks brought to locations and communities across Scotland. The programme is powered by the belief that everyone should have access to the best of international art at their doorstep and our mission is to inspire the next generation of artists in Scotland. Award winning artist Lindsey Mendick has been commissioned to bring work to Reform Street, Dundee open from September to December 2024.Main duties: • Invigilate the artwork, ensuring it is well presented at all times • Communicate any issues with the artwork to the front of house manager and exhibitions team. • Welcome members of the public and assist with questions • Assist with opening and closing of the artwork • Keep track of visitor numbers and support with surveys • Promote accessibility and assist members of the public as required • Adhere to Health & Safety • Support the Learning Team with group visits and public programme • Work as part of the overall JUPITER+ Dundee team in making the artwork and learning programme engaging and accessible to the broadest possible publicsPerson Specification • Experience of working with the public • Excellent communication skills • Interest in, and knowledge of, contemporary visual arts • Awareness of access issues and disability awareness • Good time management • Preference will be given to individuals based in Dundee or TaysideThe deadline is Tuesday 29 July 2025 at 17:00.
