Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced part-time Physiotherapist to work in GP Practices across Colne Union PCN in Yiewsley / West Drayton as an MSK First Contact Physio for 3 days a week. This exciting new role (Band 7) will be joining a growing team that includes Clinical Pharmacists and Social Prescribing Link Workers. Successful candidates will have a named GP Supervisor, access to peer learning developmental opportunities.The successful candidate will have experience of initial assessments and creating treatment plans. One of our priority focus areas will be around frailty and prevention of falls. Experience in this area would be an advantage.Main duties of the jobThis role is new to primary care, and we envisage the role to be one to enhance the patient care offering. This role will be a face to face clinical role assessing new acute issues, as well as ongoing care and support for existing conditions in a preventative approach. They will work directly with patients to assess and treat conditions, manage long-term conditions as well as promote self-care. They will be part of a significant team of PCN First Contact Physiotherapists working under the supervision and support of a First Contact Physiotherapist Manager. The post holder will:-Provide clinical expertise, acting as first-contact physiotherapist and making decisions about the best course of action for patients' care (including in relation to undifferentiated conditions). This will involve seeing patients, without prior contact with their GP, in order to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan. Progress and request investigations to facilitate diagnosis and choice of treatment regime, understanding the information limitations derived from these and the relative sensitivity and specificity of particular tests diagnostic services such as x-rays and blood test, and interpret and act on results to aid diagnosis and the management plans of patients.
