1 month ago Be among the first 25 applicants About The RoleWe are seeking a skilled About The RoleWe are seeking a skilledQuantity Surveyorwith proven experience in design-related aspects of railway civil engineering projects.The successful applicant will work closely with senior members of the commercial team and be supported by a trainee surveyor. Responsibilities will include a broad range of commercial duties, along with the procurement and management of our supply chain.This role is primarily focused on supporting Balfour Beatty Rail Design and Engineering, particularly on the Isle of Skye project, as well as other design-related work under internal trading agreements and the NEC suite of contracts.What you'll be doingKey Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToMeasure & interpret specifications & drawings Build up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimates Translate measurement from drawings and Specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works Plan commercial activities to meet requirements of section programmes Collation of Cost and Value Information Preparation of Cost reconciliation statements Collect information required to specify procurement requirements Undertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility Collation of cost and value information Measurement of works and agreements with subcontractorsWho we're looking forThe Following Qualifications Are EssentialBSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalentThe Following Qualities/experience Are DesirableCommunication Teamwork Achievement Focus (Achieving Results) Previous Commercial Work experience Industry knowledgeWhy work for usDay in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UK’s most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.Why join us?BenefitsAs if contributing to and supporting work that makes life better for millions wasn’t rewarding enough, we offer a full range of benefits too.
