This is an ideal position for someone with strong attention to detail, organisational and interpersonal skills who is looking to make a real impact in a research-focused environment.You will be part of a collaborative team that works closely with pharmacy colleagues and multi-disciplinary teams across the Trust and wider region. Be responsible for Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) management, including receipt, dispensing, handing out, returns, temperature excursion reports, and any other activities deemed appropriate by the Clinical Trials Specialist Pharmacist. Ensure that IMPs for clinical trials are managed according to regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures and Good Clinical Practice. Develop and review departmental clinical trial work and standard operating procedures. Identify and manage risks associated with the use of IMPs in clinical trials. Work with members of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team and Research and Development (R&D) team to review and assess operational and clinical resources needed to open and run clinical trials. Attend site initiation visits, sponsor monitoring visits, and close out visits. Support the Aseptic team in the management of Oncology, Haematology and other clinical trials related to their clinical areas. Formulate and recover pharmacy charges for clinical trials. Support gathering and reporting of KPI information for benchmarking and identify any variations or concerns for discussion with Pharmacy Senior Team and R&D Team. Level 3 National Certificate in Pharmacy Services, or Diploma Pharmaceutical Science or Level 3 knowledge base programme (Or equivalent qualification Desirable criteria Accredited for final prescription checking, or willing to undertake training for accreditation GCP qualification Skills and AbilitiesEssential criteria Good written and oral communication skills. Able to communicate with patients and all grades of healthcare staff (verbally and in writing) Prioritisation, excellent time management, the ability to plan and execute long-term projects and maintain multiple projects at once Computer literate and able to demonstrate a good depth of ability to use excel, word programmes Good interpersonal skills Confident & assertive when dealing with other professionals Demonstrates ability to organise and prioritise workload including when under pressure. Good problem-solving skills Excellent numeracy skills and analysis and interpretation of data Ability to identify and manage risk. Desirable criteria Experience of providing education and training to pharmacy staff, nursing staff and doctors Knowledge and ExperienceEssential criteria Experience of providing training to pharmacy staff Experience of liaising and interacting with nursing and medical staff and other healthcare professionals Experience of dealing with patients and the public Desirable criteria Experience of working with clinical trials Good understanding of Good Clinical Practice Experience of being in a Medicines Management role e.g. Assessment of Patients own medicines, drug history taking, medicines reconciliation Knowledge of CMM computer system Previous experience of conducting audit / project work Working knowledge/experience of writing SOPs Understanding of Quality Improvement principles and methodology Minimum of 2 years' work experience (post qualification) as a qualified Pharmacy Technician to include hospital roles Personal QualitiesEssential criteria Reliable Self-motivated Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Ability to motivate self and others Able to work on own initiative and as part of a multidisciplinary team Demonstrates initiative, innovation, and motivation & enthusiasm for the post Commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
