The lecturer will have research expertise in histories of place, with particular reference to the historic built environment. They will take on the duties of Architectural Editor of the Victoria County History of England (VCH), supporting the VCH community with training, editorial guidance and subject-specific work in this area. They will manage ongoing projects, including VCH research and publications in progress, and the externally-funded VCH digitisation project, working with the team in the CHPPC. More broadly, they will contribute to IHR initiatives to support community-based and grassroots history across the UK, liaising with local groups and partners.
