GSL Educationare currently seeking a dedicated and empatheticMental Health Workerto work in an SEMH setting, offering one-to-one and small group support to students with emotional and behavioural needs. As aMental Health Worker , this role is ideal for individuals with experience in mental health support, youth work, or psychology, who are committed to helping children and young people overcome challenges and build resilience. Responsibilities as a Mental Health Worker: Provide emotional and behavioural support for students with SEMH needs. Deliver strategies to help students manage anxiety, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. Build strong, trusting relationships to promote student engagement. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SENCOs. Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and trauma-informed learning environment. Requirements for Mental Health Worker: Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH or mental health difficulties. Be resilient, nurturing, and committed to making a difference. Be confident using de-escalation strategies and therapeutic approaches. Hold relevant training or qualifications in mental health, youth work, or psychology (desirable). Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service(or be willing to apply for one). Provide a full, up-to-date CVwith explanations for any employment gaps over the last 10 years. Why work with GSL Education?
