This is a part-time position, working Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30am – 3:30pm, for the full academic year. About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant in our Early Years classroom, you'll play a key role in creating a supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to adapt learning for individual pupils and support children with ASD and ADHD, helping them thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Some pupils may require support with personal care routines, including toilet training. Key Responsibilities: -Delivering tailored 1:1 and group support throughout the day -Supporting phonics and early literacy development -Helping pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social skills -Assisting with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner -Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and families to maintain consistency in support -Following individual EHCPs and behaviour plans What We’re Looking For: -Experience working in Early Years, ideally in a school or nursery setting -Confidence supporting children with autism and/or ADHD -Familiarity with phonics teaching (e.g. Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc.) -A calm, patient, and positive approach to learning and behaviour -DBS on the Update Service – essential -Commitment to working Thursdays and Fridays for the full academic year -A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Early Years or Teaching Support) is an advantage but not essential for the right candidate.
