At VEGE, were looking for an experienced, solution-focused Powertrain Technical Inspector to join our team of specialists. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working methodically, using their mechanical know-how to make a real impact on product quality and customer satisfaction.As a Powertrain Technical Inspector, youll be responsible for inspecting and dismantling returned engines and transmissions to identify exactly what went wrong. You'll draw on your workshop experience to pinpoint causes of failure, document your findings clearly, and help improve future products. Its a role where your mechanical skills, curiosity, and problem-solving mindset will truly shine.Key ResponsibilitiesAccurately document all information upon receiving warranted unitsVerify unit identity using technical references and warranty/customer documentationCapture and compare visual evidence of unit conditionGather all relevant failure reports to inform inspection strategyPlan and execute disassembly to enable comprehensive root cause analysisOrganise, photograph, and document components for reportingPresent findings to the technical team and support collaborative analysisInput agreed conclusions into the ERP systemCommunicate findings with suppliers and contribute to continuous improvementShare expertise and support team development through knowledge transferContribute to best practice development and data accuracy initiativesSkills and ExperienceA strong technical background in automotive engineering or related qualificationsIn-depth knowledge of powertrain components and systemsExperience in automotive or aftermarket environmentsExcellent root cause analysis and investigative skillsClear, concise technical writing and presentation abilitiesA collaborative approach to teamwork and cross-functional discussionsFamiliarity with photography for documentation purposes(Bonus) Forklift licenseWhy join Vege?We believe in technical excellence, continuous improvement, and empowering our people to thrive.
