Job Title: Senior / Quantity SurveyorLocation: West YorkshireSalary: £50,000 – £65,000 (depending on experience) + car allowance + benefits package About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and driven Senior / Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team based in West Yorkshire. This is a permanent role offering the opportunity to play a key part in delivering successful commercial outcomes across a range of exciting infrastructure and civil projects.You will lead on cost management, procurement, and commercial strategy, ensuring projects are delivered on budget and in line with company goals. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise and a collaborative approach, looking to take the next step in their career.Key Responsibilities1. Cost Estimation & BudgetingPrepare detailed cost plans and estimates.Provide advice on cost-effective solutions and value engineering.Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with business objectives.Set financial targets and monitor project performance.2. Tendering & ProcurementLead the tendering process, from preparation to bid evaluation.Advise on procurement strategies and contractor selection.Support procurement operations and goods received processes (GRN).3. Contract AdministrationOversee interim valuations, variations, and preparation of final accounts.Ensure compliance with contract terms and manage any disputes.Negotiate terms with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.4. Cost Control & ReportingMonitor and control project costs and cash flow.Produce regular, accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.Ensure profitability is maintained across all assigned projects.5. Risk & Value ManagementIdentify and mitigate commercial and financial risks.Drive value through strategic planning and cost control initiatives.6. Team LeadershipSupervise and mentor junior quantity surveying staff.Delegate tasks effectively and ensure quality standards are met.Lead and develop commercial teams, promoting a high-performance culture.7. Client & Stakeholder EngagementRepresent the company in client meetings and commercial discussions.Resolve disputes efficiently while maintaining positive relationships.Support business development by identifying opportunities and contributing to bids and strategic growth.8. Compliance & GovernanceEnsure compliance with legal, contractual, and internal company policies at all times.
