Position: Chartered Structural DesignerLocation: Birmingham, UKType: PermanentTeam: Design – Infrastructure (Rail, Bridges, Civil Structures)Overview:We’re growing our UK design team and are looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer to help lead the delivery of temporary and permanent works design across major infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with internal and global design teams and provide technical leadership in a new office focused on rail, highways, and complex civil infrastructure.What You’ll Be Doing:Leading structural design across rail, bridge, and complex civil projectsSupporting design delivery from concept through to constructionInterfacing with clients, contractors, and internal design teamsProviding mentorship and oversight to junior engineersEnsuring compliance with Eurocodes, British Standards, and client specificationsSupporting bids, proposals, and business development activityWhat We’re Looking For:Chartered Engineer (CEng, MIStructE or MICE)10–15 years’ experience in structural design (preferably permanent works)Strong knowledge of UK standards and infrastructure deliveryTemporary works experience beneficialProficient in structural design tools (e.g. MIDAS, Tekla, Robot, Tedds)Strong communication skills and collaborative mindsetComfortable working independently or across global teams
