Job Description

ViridiCO2 is seeking a Process Chemist to develop, optimise and scale up chemical processes used in the manufacturing of novel CO2-based chemicals. Working alongside ViridiCO2 experts the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to projects which offer radical sustainable solutions for the global supply chain. The successful candidate will work to ensure our processes are safe, efficient, and environmentally sustainable, whilst also maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance. They will ensure that our processes can be scaled into industrially relevant equipment familiar to our client base and will have the capability to quickly on-board key characteristics of existing client processes. Salary: £50,000-£60,000 Reports to: CEO Direct reports: No Direct ReportsKey Accountabilities and Responsibilities:  ·        Ensure company compliance with all Health, Safety, Environment and other policies.·        Develop and improve chemical manufacturing processes from lab scale up through to commercial production, attending client production sites as required.·        Translate laboratory procedures into industrial-scale processes, optimizing reaction conditions, yields, throughput, and all aspects of quality.·        Provide chemical and technical support to manufacturing teams, including troubleshooting process issues and implementing corrective actions.·        Assist in the calibration, operation and maintenance of company equipment and instruments as required.·        Practise comprehensive record keeping and documentation processes, making use of both physical and electronic tools.·        Develop accurate reports and effectively communicate findings with both internal project teams and external stakeholders.·        Contribute to Company development, including providing literature reviews and attending meetings and conferences.·        Complete other tasks as required. Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience required:  ·        BSc, MSc, or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.·        Minimum of two, and preferably up to five years’ experience, of process chemistry in an industrial setting, including experience with process scale-up and pilot plant operations.·        Experience of working with professionals in the chemical manufacturing industry.·        Commitment to quality and scientific excellence.·        Strong communication skills, both oral and written.·        Able and willing to travel both within the UK and overseas as required.·        Willingness to learn and develop, and to support the development of the Company.·        Ability to commute to the University of Southampton or willingness to move within commutable distance. Published: 30th July 2025 Closing Date: 30th August 2025
