Job Opportunity: Communication Data Investigator (SPOC) Location: Leek Wootton | 18.12 per hour | 3-Month Contract | Flexible Working Available Are you experienced in digital data handling and motivated to support investigations that help keep people safe? We are currently recruiting a Communication Data Investigator (CDI) on an initial 3-month contract to join the Cyber & Digital Investigations team within Warwickshire Police''s Protective Services Directorate. As an accredited Single Point of Contact (SPOC) , you will enable the lawful acquisition of communications data from providers including mobile networks, ISPs, and social media platforms. Youll support a wide range of investigationsfrom volume crime to serious and organised offencesensuring that the use of communications data is effective, proportionate, and legally compliant. Key Details: Pay: 18.12 per hour Contract Length: 3 months (initially) Location: Leek Wootton (flexible/hybrid working available) Hours: Full-time preferred On-call rota: Required for out-of-hours/emergency response Key Responsibilities: Review, process, and develop communications data requests submitted by investigators Submit lawful applications to OCDA and internal Authorising Officers (SRO, DSO, JC) Acquire authorised data via CSPs and ISPs in line with the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 , RIPA , DPA , and GDPR Provide strategic and tactical advice to investigators, including during live-time incidents Conduct radio frequency surveys and compile technical reports Act as a liaison point with providers and external agencies Deliver briefings and training to operational officers on lawful data acquisition Provide witness statements and give evidence in court when required Essential Knowledge & Experience: Educated to A-Level, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Solid understanding of legislation: IPA 2016, RIPA, DPA, GDPR, and related Codes of Practice Experience handling sensitive or complex digital data Proficient in IT systems and Excel, with strong administrative accuracy Excellent analytical and decision-making skills Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal Experience in a policing, intelligence, or investigative setting Familiarity with the National Intelligence Model and MOPI Prior use of intelligence systems or digital evidence platforms Completed the Mandatory National SPOC Training Course (initial and annual refreshers) Participation in an on-call rota is required, covering evenings and weekends Occasional travel across the Warwickshire policing area This role requires Management Vetting (MV) and Security Check (SC) clearance Must be comfortable working alone, under pressure, and in high-priority operational environments Why Join?
