Our ports support 119,000 jobs and contribute £7.5 billion to the UK economy annually.We are seeking a Building Surveyor to join our dynamic Property team. This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to work across a nationally significant and complex commercial estate. Reporting to the Lead Building Surveyor, you’ll support strategic estate management and deliver technical surveying services that underpin ABP’s operations, development, and sustainability goals.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver building surveying services including dilapidations, condition reports, feasibility studies, and pre-acquisition surveys across a diverse multi-site portfolioSupport the management of tenant alterations, licences, and lease eventsAssist with Reinstatement Cost Assessments and manage third-party consultantsProduce technical reports, specifications, AutoCAD drawings, and recommendationsConduct drone inspections (training and certification provided if needed)Contribute to sustainability targets, including carbon neutrality by 2040 and MEES complianceCollaborate with commercial, operations, and property teams to provide technical advice and unlock valueHelp manage trackers, documentation, procurement processes, and consultant performanceTo be ConsideredExperience in a building surveying environment (commercial or operational estate)Working towards a professional qualification (AssocRICS or MRICS) or already charteredStrong understanding of dilapidations and property management processesExcellent communication skills and attention to detailAble to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectivelyProficient in IT; experience with AutoCAD and drone operations is desirable (training available)A collaborative, enthusiastic team player who can work independently or alongside senior surveyorsThis is an exciting opportunity to join a client-side organisation with a national footprint and play a key role in maintaining and evolving one of the UK’s most critical infrastructure portfolios.For a confidential discussion or to receive the full job description, please contact Daniah Williams MRICS on 07989 435 960 or daniah.williams@.
