We’re on the hunt for 3 passionate Connections Engineer to join our Connections Business Development Team at Northern Powergrid.To continue our commitment to deliver high quality customer services for our connections customers to connect large factories and power stations to our extra high voltage networks, Northern Powergrid is looking for an experienced Engineer to join our dynamic Major Connections business.You'll act as the Point of Contact across customers, Design and Major projects, playing a critical part in the UK's decarbonisation and Clean Power 2030 initiative.At Northern Powergrid, we’re all about keeping the power flowing for 3.9 million homes and businesses. As a Connections Business Development Engineer, you will be a key enabler in helping our customers transition to a low carbon economy through the deployment of flexible connection solutions that utilise new and emerging technologies and commercial arrangements.Along with a competitive salary of between £53,771 - £73,451 we also offer great benefits such as;Enrolment into our pension scheme25 days holiday (rising with service) plus bank holidaysExcellent opportunities for career growthKey Responsibilities:Accountable for delivering quotation services to customers in respect to EHV connections on time and within licence requirementsManage the EHV customer experience and relationship from first approach to final connectionEngage with customers who wish to connect to our Extra High Voltage network, developing innovative and flexible connection solutions to support the transition to a low carbon economyEnsure that regulatory and charging policies are adhered to in respect to quotationsProduce quotation approval documentation to an executive level standardInterpret technical appraisal documentation and create effective contracts governing the delivery of the physical workTest technical and commercial outputs against customers needsManage commercial and legal documentation in relation to our connections contractsOversee effective project financial goverance and project closure routinesKey CompetenciesFirst class written and spoken communication skillsAble to deliver high quality documentation in a commercial environmentEstablish, build and maintain exceptional customer relationships.Provide oversight and ensure timely resolution of issues and escalated complaintsSound decision makingEffective team workingQualifications and AttributesEssential Qualifications and ExperienceHNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalentFull UK driving licenceDesirable Qualifications and ExperienceProject Management QualificationsExperience of the Electricity Industry (connections) regulated environmentLegal and contract law experienceProject/Programme management experienceVisit /careers to find out more about this and other career opportunities.​Applicants are considered on the basis of their suitability for the post irrespective of sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender re-assignment, race, age or disability, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
