Trainee Quantity Surveyor / Estimator Location: Redditch Salary: 22,000 30,000 (depending on experience) Sector: Civil Engineering Employment Type: Permanent A leading civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team based in Redditch. Key Requirements: Either a degree (or currently studying) in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management OR practical experience within quantity surveying, estimating, or procurement Strong numerical, communication, and organisational skills A genuine interest in civil engineering and commercial project delivery Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) Ability to work well within a team and support senior commercial staff Role Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of tenders, cost plans and budgets Support measurement, valuation, and payment processes on live projects Maintain accurate cost records and assist with monthly reporting Liaise with site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors Learn and apply commercial procedures and systems under the guidance of senior staff This is a structured training role with clear progression routes and support towards professional accreditation, ideal for someone looking to develop a career in civil engineering commercial management.
