Robertson Bell is pleased to be supporting a prominent government organisation to recruit an Assistant Finance Business Partners on a permanent basis. These roles are key to supporting a wide range of workplace projects, with a focus on project accounting, financial analysis, and business partnering with internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will: Produce management accounts and support budgeting across high-value projects. Partner with programme teams and stakeholders to monitor spend, ensure accurate reporting, and drive financial accountability. Advise on the treatment of project costs and lead on reconciliations, forecasting, and project closure. Support client billing and income recovery, keeping accruals accurate and controlled. Collaborate across finance to streamline processes, prepare key journals, and support audits. Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to inform decision-making. You’ll join a forward-thinking team within a major central government body that values innovation, inclusivity, and professional development. The successful candidate will also benefit from a pension over 25%, 26 days annual leave and hybrid working, requiring you to go into the office one to two days per week. The ideal candidate will: Be part-qualified or a finalist-level accountant (CCAB or equivalent); full qualification is desirable. Bring strong experience in month-end management accounting. Have a solid understanding of project accounting fundamentals; experience with facilities or estates management is desirable. Be confident engaging with a range of stakeholders and comfortable working in a dynamic, project-led environment. Be solutions-focused, with strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
