As a team we are responsible for a myriad of critical items, including senior stakeholder engagement, insight-focused analysis of our portfolio, and team enablement (i.e. raising departmental technical aptitude). The role adds significant value to Finance’s partnering with other parts of the business, by performing in-depth analysis of complex business questions. The role is responsible for performing and presenting this analysis to the CFO, FP&A Director, and other Business Partners within the finance department. The role involves interesting analysis of credit performance and our financials. What you’ll be doing Synthesising and simplifying financial and non-financial dataDelivering impactful pieces of analysis that drive finance and wider business insightsBeing a beacon of analytical know-how within Finance, and sharing that knowledge across the teamSupporting ad hoc analytical requests from leadershipSupporting FP&A in: Developing reporting to facilitate monitoring and communication of performance against targets or to support review of outlooks (i.e. forecasts) and budgetsStreamlining processes by finding automation wins or easier ways of doing thingsDriving forward process improvement-related activities for the benefit of the departmentWorking with team members and wider the FP&A team to contribute to monthly financials review (MFR) meetings, Annual Budgets, and/or other reporting requirementsHow you’ll be doing it Competent use of all systems and applications relevant to the required outputs of the role (e.g. OneStream, Workday, GSuite, Microsoft Office)Leveraging large datasets and bringing together different sources of data to bring insights to the businessInvestigating new technologies and tools and supporting process improvement workstreamsUsing business knowledge to enable work to be focussed on finance prioritiesPushing the envelope of our capabilities via new data and automationFocusing on key risks and opportunitiesCollaborating across finance teams to deliver business outcomes togetherWhat we’re looking for Strong analytical skills e.g. overall story, accuracy, spotting errors and asking the right questionsStrong technical skills (e.g. familiarity with python, sql, some coding language experience etc) a major plus!Functional knowledge of accounting principles (e.g. P&L, budget & forecast etc)Communication - within and outside Finance.
