We value diversity, empower individuals, and work together to drive meaningful change.The RoleThe Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality digital solutions within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused position, ideal for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving and contributing to products that deliver real value to clients.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop software for mobile and desktop applications in React and Node. Utilise AWS cloud technology to deliver CI/CD effectiveness. Maintain standards across all coding practices. Utilise automated testing and monitoring technology. Implement our comprehensive data and technology strategy, enabling high-impact outcomes. Sponsor and ensure the successful delivery of key technology projects, with a focus on technology and data components. Drive the development of sector-leading digital products for the organisation. Maintain core technology platforms, including cloud-based infrastructure, to enhance operational performance. Manage technology solutions, ensuring flexibility and performance against Service Level Agreements and KPIs. Oversee technology project delivery, prioritise tasks, and work with outsource partners. Ensure compliance with regulations, manage technology risk, and provide technical leadership while fostering an inclusive and diverse culture. Continually assess and evaluate current technology capabilities, usability, and effectiveness of software development. Foster an Agile working environment.Person SpecificationConfident, practical, and hands-on with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communicator, able to engage effectively at all levels. Takes full ownership and accountability for delivering results. Comfortable working remotely while actively collaborating and contributing to the team. Adaptable and flexible, able to navigate changing priorities and circumstances. Effective working independently, within a team, and directly with clients. Upholds the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism in all work.Skills And ExperienceProven hands-on experience developing complex, interactive web applications. Proficient with React for both desktop and mobile platforms. Strong expertise in AWS architecture and cloud development. Experienced working within Agile development environments. Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript. Deep knowledge of software design patterns and best practices, including SOA/Microservices, Dependency Injection, and Test-Driven Development. Skilled in back-end technologies such as Python, Java, and Node.js. Experience with relational databases like Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, or MSSQL. Proficient with source control systems and workflows. Familiarity with front-end accessibility standards, performance optimisation, and best practices. Experience with AWS services, including tools like Amazon Connect. Strong skills in database design and query optimization. Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Linux system administration.
