We are a friendly and busy GP practice in Rotherham. We are looking for a part time receptionist to work at our branch surgery Ridgeway Medical Centre. Applicants should be enthusiastic, caring, conscientious and be able to work well as part of a team. Experience of working in a GP Surgery is essential. Applicants must understand the principles of confidentiality and be keen to represent the surgery in a sensitive, friendly, efficient and competent manner. You will have a range of patient facing and administrative tasks, so excellent organisational skills and time management are crucial. A caring, empathetic character is essential. Main duties of the jobTo have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures To work in accordance with written protocols Answering and care navigating high volume of calls, signposting patients onto the correct service Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and making new and follow up appointments Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery Advice patients of relevant charges for private services Action tasks within a timely manner Politely greeting patients and visitors to the surgery Checking patients in if self checking screen is not working Dealing with all requests in an efficient and courteous manner Photocopy documentation if required Data entry of new/temporary registrations and relevant information as required Accurately collecting information and personal details about patients Receiving urine and blood samples and sending them off to the hospital laboratories As required support in the process of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and in a timely manner Action incoming emails when necessary Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested Opening post and forwarding it onto the relevant parties Open up the surgery at the start of the day and ensure the building is secure when leaving at the end of the day Covering colleagues during times of annual leave To receive deliveries into the practice and process the relevant accompanying paperwork Mandatory training About usOur main site Shakespeare Road Surgery is located in Eastwood, with our branch surgery based at Ridgeway.
