Locomotive Technician - Electrical EngineerLocation:Chesterfield Area (commutable from Worksop, Mansfield, etc.) Depots are based within 15 miles of each other (25 mins apart)Salary:GBP40,000 - GBP48,000 DOE with potential for some overtimeAnnual Leave:36 days (28 days + 8 days bank holiday)Join our expert rail depot team!We are hiring anElectrically Biased Locomotive Technicianto maintain and repair a range of diesel-electric locomotives, includingClass 20, 08, 37, 47, and 56 .Key Responsibilities:Electrical fault-finding onDC traction systems, generators, alternators, and control circuits (24V - 850V DC)Repair and maintaintraction and auxiliary systems , includingEnglish Electric and Sulzer control systemsDiagnose and resolve faults usingschematics, wiring diagrams, multimeters, and Megger testersWork onelectro-pneumatic & electro-hydraulic interfacesComplete maintenance logs and useCMMS systemsfor compliance reportingWhat We're Looking For:Experience in rail and rolling stock electrical maintenanceStrong understanding ofdiesel-electric traction systemsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPerson Specification:Qualifications & Experience:NVQ level 3 or ONC or equivalent in a related engineering disciplineTime-served experience in electrical engineeringA strong understanding of locomotive or rolling stock systems is highly desirablePrevious experience with schematic diagrams and control systemsSkills:Ability to interpret technical documents and work instructionsProactive, detail-oriented, and safety-focusedStrong teamwork and communication skillsWork Schedule:Monday to Friday, Day Shifts 7 am to 3 pm (35-hour working week)1-hour lunch breakOvertime available on an as-needed basisOn-site role across two depot locations in the Chesterfield areaCompensation & Benefits:Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP48,000 depending on experience (increases tied to development and performance)Holiday Allowance: 36 days total (28 + 8 public holidays)Free depot car parkingPension Benefits: Employer contributed pension schemeCareer & Culture Support: Career growth opportunities in a supportive, family-oriented environmentTo apply for this role, please send your CV through the provided link.
