Job Description

We are searching for a high performing and enthusiastic individual to fill a Patient Administrator vacancy at the Chelsea and Westminster Site, working in our busy Admin Department. If you thrive on a challenge and enjoy working in a very busy and demanding environment, this could be the role for you.The post holder will provide a comprehensive, patient-focused administrative service on a day-to-day basis to a multi-disciplinary team within the Patient Access team.The successful candidate must be able to work autonomously and as a team member, handling a wide range of administrative duties. They should demonstrate excellent communication skills, be organized, adaptable, flexible, and show empathy and concern for others.Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9-5.The post holder will contribute to delivering high-quality, safe, and compassionate healthcare by providing administrative support focused on the patient and their individual needs. They will liaise with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, maintaining high standards of customer service and professionalism at all times.Depending on the area of placement, responsibilities may include support in Clinical Offices, A&E, Main Reception, Central Outpatient Booking, Clinical Imaging, Wards, or Endoscopy, with cross-cover where necessary.Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of England's top-performing and safest trusts, operating two main acute hospital sites and award-winning clinics across North West London. Employment is subject to a six-month probationary period.Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.Roles and ResponsibilitiesProvide a customer-focused service, dealing with all patients or visitors politely and courteously.Support the delivery of high-quality healthcare ensuring all patients receive excellent service.Handle patient and relative queries confidentially and sensitively; refer clinical queries to appropriate staff.Interact with distressed patients and relatives empathetically.Manage telephone enquiries and messages, using initiative and prioritization skills.Update patient details on PAS, verifying demographic information upon arrival or departure.Oversee work of junior staff, ensure daily objectives are met, and demonstrate duties to new starters.Follow procedures for data capture and ensure all paperwork is filed appropriately.Arrange interpreter and transport services as needed.Adhere to trust-wide SOPs and participate in their development.Provide cover across the Patient Access Department as required.Ensure availability of all necessary documents, including forms, leaflets, labels, and questionnaires.This advert closes on Thursday, 7 August 2025.#J-18808-Ljbffr
