We are currently recruiting for a Prescriptions Administrator to join our growing and enthusiastic team of administrators here at Ashfields Primary Care Centre in Sandbach. This role will be working with 7 other administrators to support the practice in keeping our patients safe and healthy. Main duties of the jobTo be responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team.Duties can include but are not limited to, processing of information and assisting patients as required, processing prescription requests and monitoring of prescribing within the practice guidelines.To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.The role is a 24hr a week post across 3 days. Job responsibilitiesThefollowing are the core responsibilities of the role. There may be on occasion,a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factorssuch as workload and staffing levels: a.Maintainingand monitoring the practice appointment system b.Processpaper, telephone and e-requests for prescriptions c.Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately d.Signpostpatients to the correct services itiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members andexternal agencies f.Actionincoming emails when necessary g.Orderinvestigations to ensure safe prescribing h.Photocopydocumentation as required putdata into the patients healthcare records as necessary j.Supportthe management of care home patients k.Manageall queries as necessary in an efficient manner l.Carryout system searches as requested m.Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times n.Supportall clinical staff with general tasks as requested Inaddition to the primary responsibilities, the medical administrator may berequested to: a.Partakein audit as directed by the audit lead c.Booking,cancelling or reorganising patient appointments d.Attendteam meetings as required.
