For more information about our Values and Value Based Interviewing please visitJob overviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and proactive band 8a advanced cancer pharmacist with previous cancer services experience to work as part of the Oxford Cancer & Haematology Centre’s Cancer Pharmacy Team to specialise in Oncology covering maternity cover. The advanced cancer pharmacist will work as an advanced practitioner in line with the RPS Faculty Advanced Clinical Framework within the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership & management, education & research, with core capabilities in a specific area of clinical competence. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, as well as innovative ideas on improving service delivery and patient care. This post promises to bring opportunities and challenges working within the cancer pharmacy team, giving the successful candidate the chance to develop and extend their clinical and managerial skills at an advanced level. We will provide you with a comprehensive induction covering all aspects of the work, support from senior pharmacy staff and an environment to develop further. Main duties of the jobTo contribute to, deliver, develop and evaluate clinical pharmacy services and medicines optimisation To support and deputise for the Consultant Pharmacists, Highly Advanced Pharmacist/Divisional Lead Pharmacist as appropriate To encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research, with core capabilities and specialisation in a specific area of clinical specialist practice, and in line with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Advanced Pharmacy Framework (APF). To promote medicines optimisation to ensure evidence based and cost-effective use of treatments. To provide specialised professional and technical education and training to enable the clinical units to meet high standards of patient care and safety. To provide a framework for the safe, efficient and cost effective use of medicine resources within the specialist area. To develop and maintain highly specialist knowledge in medicines used and clinical advances within the specialty. To act as a role model for pharmacy and the wider MDT in the speciality. To be an active member of the pharmacy department and in the specialist area/Directorate team, and ensure continuous two-way exchange of information to maintain high standards of medicines use within the Trust.
