We have recently commissioned 6 Cios Flow Image Intensifier to be used within out theatres.We have an exciting opportunity to recruit 2 x full time radiographer and , with a passion for imaging, to expand our experienced team. With significant or extensive experience in plain film and theatre is essential and this post will give you the opportunity to build on and extend your clinical expertise in MSK imaging.The successful applicant be required to work extended weekdays and weekends on a rolling rota as well as on-call duties.This is an excellent opportunity for the right person. You will need to be motivated to learn, flexible and enthusiastic to develop your skills. It is essential that you have significant or extensive experience.You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will play an important role in patient care, so you should be positive, adaptable and work to high standards to ensure our Trust maintains its good reputation.Main duties of the jobTo undertake a range of general radiographic procedures and organise service provision within the main X-Ray Department and Operating Theatres under the supervision of the X-ray Team Lead Radiographer. To directly supervise Assistant Practitioners and Radiographic Assistants to maximise throughput and monitor image quality. Work within and adhere to departmental and Trust policies and procedures and to ensure that these are adhered to by more junior staff. Participate in the Imaging On-Call rota, extended working day system and weekend duties. Perform intravenous injections of contrast media as directed by the Radiologists and with the appropriate qualification, as required. To liaise with other areas of the Trust to ensure the best patient care by having a flexible approach to use of staff and equipment. To communicate and liaise with all members Trust staff including the multidisciplinary team and to deliver sensitive information to patients and carers where there may be barriers to communication, ensuring that patients understand the procedure and receive appropriate reassurance. To record data concerning the patients examination, in line with IRMER 2017 legislation and factors relating to the patients clinical condition, Maintain a professional attitude for the dignity and well-being of the patient and ensuring confidentiality at all times. To organise and prioritise workload as required, in a specialized modality / departmental area considering the patients clinical condition and the imaging request, in a safe and efficient manner. Maintain the highest professional standards and good public image both verbally and visually. Actively assist in the clinical education/training of trainee assistant practitioners, radiographic assistants and radiography students, as required. Participate in research, technical developments and introduce new techniques and instruct staff on the same under the direction of the Team Lead Radiographer and with the agreement of the relevant medical staff. Assist in the development and production of protocols, procedures and training manuals as directed by the Team Lead Radiographer. Provide advice on the appropriateness of Imaging requests in line with departmental protocols.
